Eugenie Silverman Baizerman was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1899. She died in New York City on December 30, 1949, aged 50 years. She spent her early years in Bessarabia and Odessa, Russia where she began her formal art training. The collection contains a few of her drawings from this period. Eugenie immigrated to the United States in 1914. She began to study art at the Educational Alliance and the National Academy of Design in New York. In 1920 she met Saul Baizerman.
